These pens have a Fisher Space Pen refill. This refill contains a thixotropic ink-semisolid until the shearing action of the rolling ball liquefied it-so it will flow only when needed. The cartridge is pressurized with nitrogen so that it doesn’t rely on gravity to make it work. It is dependable in freezing cold and desert heat. It can also write underwater and upside down. It has about 4 times as much ink as any other pen we make. Because it always writes, I consider this my best pen for outdoor use. 5” long.
I have visited the Fisher Pen factory in Boulder City, Nevada several times, and am very impressed as to the quality of every product they make.
The metal parts are chrome. This is an extremely durable plating.
