These pens will take either a Parker ballpoint refill or Gel refill. Your pen is supplied with a Parker Gel refill. They are available at Staples and Office Depot. They write like rollerballs.
Most pen makers use the generic refills supplied with the pen kits they buy. Those refills write well enough to start, but seem to fade out after a month or so. The genuine refills cost a little more, but they last longer, and in the case of the genuine Parker Gel, the ink will not smear (which is helpful for lefties), while the generic refills and even the Uni-ball will smear.
Parker Gel refills are available in black (#30525) at Office Depot, in both black and blue at Staples, and in 4 other colors at www.pencity.com, including turquoise, green, red, and purple. They usually cost about $5.50 for two refills.
The metal parts are titanium gold, which will never wear or tarnish.
